We find in Alfresco all the functionalities of a modern and versatile document management software: storage and indexing of all types of content, including rich media and large files such as maps or plans, efficient visualization (from PDF, to video through office files everything is readable without leaving the solution), powerful search with faceted filters, multiple classification plans, virtual navigation, customizable interfaces…

Cherry on the cake ? The solution stands out for its ability to interface with the entire company ecosystem: direct editing of documents through office suites (MS Office and/or Google Doc), integration with directories and authentication systems , iOS and Android mobile clients, integration with scanning chains and messaging, connectors with various major business software packages such as SAP or Salesforces.

Dashboards, content types, metadata, version management… everything is customizable! Access to the solution itself can be done in different modes: via the web client, via network sharing, in connection with a business software package, in synchronized mode with client workstations (Alfresco desktop sync).

Alfresco offers an exclusive method of managing documentary spaces by "sites", which allows effective delegation and administration by the users themselves - without particular technical skills - while limiting the risk of errors regarding rights or confidentiality .
The use of preconfigured models (document templates, tree structures, sites) saves time and standardizes uses within the different departments.

 

A complete and integrated suite
Two important building blocks now complete the ECM base:

  • Alfresco Process Services   is a BPM (business process management) suite that allows you to create and design business processes (workflow). Everything is done in graphical mode (to the BPMN 2.0 standard) and the modeled processes can then be injected into the ECM base if they have a documentary purpose, or be executed in the form of mini-applications directly in the BPM portal. All monitoring, administration and settings elements are provided. The application can be used independently or acquired with the ECM brick.
  • Alfresco Governance Services is an add-on module for formal document management (record management) and archiving in compliance with regulatory standards. Combined with appropriate storage solutions, this module meets the need for recording and preserving documents with probative value necessary in certain activities.
