The first stop on Drupal’s French Warm-Up Tour will take place on Saturday, January 28. This Contribution Weekend will be held at Smile’s premises in Asnières, with the active participation of our staff!

The new year has barely gotten started, but preparations for DrupalCon Lille (October 17-20) are already in full swing. The non-profit Drupal France & Francophonie has organized a Warm-Up Tour to invite enthusiasts and contributors to get together at dedicated meet-ups, running through the month of September, in various cities across France.

The teams at Smile are thrilled to be hosting the first meeting on Saturday, January 28!

Why should you contribute to open-source software like Drupal?

Open-source software is, first and foremost, the result of collaboration between a worldwide community of contributors. Those experts want their work to expand the shared, public software heritage, so it can help as many people as possible.. Drupal itself, the well-known open-source CMS, was the fruit of that desire to create a user- friendly tool, whose only limitation in terms of use would be how the community would choose to use it. Drupal was built by a particularly engaged community, one of the most active in the world, that continues to add new  functionalities to the solution, module after module.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of the latest version, Drupal 10

Drupal 10 was released to market on December 15 of last year. This new version of the CMS will still need various adjustments and enhancements in order to optimize its rollout. The Contribution Weekend will be the perfect opportunity for developers and users alike to discuss the use of the tool, its applications and its functionalities, as well as to make progress on development work and to participate in its evolution, in a concrete way.

Registration is open for the meet-up on January 28!

  • Are you developing your first module but aren’t sure how to publish it?
  • Have you found a bug in Drupal and want to notify the community and suggest a fix?
  • Do you want to meet your peers and discuss the latest release of Drupal?
  • Do you want to participate in the software’s translation and help enrich its newest modules?

Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned contributor, a developer or a user, so long as you are inquisitive and have some basic technical knowledge, you are invited to register for the meet-up on Saturday, January 28, where you can introduce yourself to the people who bring the Drupal community to life!
